NY Biathlon State &Assistant State Chairpersons
The New York Biathlon Committee is seeking nominations for the volunteer positions of chairperson and assistant chairperson. Candidates may be self and/or biathlon club sponsored nominees.
NY Biathlon has an established history of clubs and individuals working
cooperatively to organize and develop the sport of biathlon through quality
programs and events in NY year round. To continue this legacy, NY Biathlon
is seeking two individuals to serve two year terms in the positions. The
Assistant State Chairperson will transition to the State Chairperson
position upon the completion of the Chairperson’s two year term.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity and experience with biathlon as a competitor and/or staff, coach, official or volunteer
- Knowledge and application of International Biathlon Union (IBU) Rules
- Level I/II US Biathlon Association Official or commitment to become credentialed at next available training
- Involvement with organizing athletes and staff to participate in biathlon at the New York State Winter Empire State Games and NY Nor Am events
- Commitment to NY Biathlon’s vision and mission of expanding the sport within and beyond NY borders
- A collaborative community organizer/leader with clubs and other entities to grow the sport
- Strong communicator empowering community through collaboration and learning
- Willingness to serve constituents
- Good judgment and personal dependability
